Why should you shop at Premiere Electronics?

See what past customers have had to say!
Well, to start with we’ve been selling and servicing CB and Export radios for years. Our unbeatable combination of fast order fulfillment, custom radio configurations and huge selection make us a leader is this business. We have the experience necessary to quickly and accurately solve just about any problem that may occur with your radio setup.

Unlike most online shops we have an on site repair facility so if the unlikely occurs and your radio does require warranty service we can repair it quickly. Keep this in mind when shopping around. Another reason is that we don’t clip modulation limiters. We firmly believe in tuning radios for clean and clear modulation. If the shop does clip the modulation limiter remember that in most cases it will automatically void any warranty that the manufacturer has offered on the radio.

We have recently upgraded our shopping cart system as well as our back office management software. This means that from the time we receive your order we can have it processed, billed and shipped in as little as 10 minutes. Our complete system is fully integrated with UPS as well as our credit card processor for quick and efficient order fulfillment.

Lastly our shipping department is second to none. We use state of the art UPS equipment to incorporate the entire process making it as simple as possible. We stock hundreds of boxes that are the perfect size for your order. We correctly package items so they don't get damaged. We are one of the only companies that can boast about the fact that we use new shipping boxes and packing peanuts, the others use newspaper and old beat up boxes.

The Mega Tune

Our Mega Tune is designed to provide you with loud booming audio while still maintaining a clean and clear signal. If you looking to sound raspy or bleed over many channels this defiantly isn't the modification for you. Our techs have worked very hard to perfect this modification. The mega tune will not void any factory warranties, it will not damage your radio and it will not make your radio run warmer than normal. We also do not remove or disable any part of the AMC or ALC circuit. We do upgrade various parts of the audio circuit with higher wattage or better quality parts. We also do a few other modifications that make the radios wave form, when viewed on an oscilloscope more linear. This means of course you will sound as loud as possible while still maintaining maximum clarity. If you are looking for maximum performance from your radio we recommend you have us perform this modification. We also completely warranty all work performed by our service department. The mega tune will also increase your peak power. Dual final radios after being mega tuned typically put out over 40 watts and single final radios typically put out over 30 watts.

The True Tune

Our True Tune is like a basic peak and tune. When you receive your radio that have been True Tuned by Premiere Electronics you can rest assured that your radio is operating at it's maximum efficiency. We go through your radio and re-align the transmitter section. The reason this is necessary is because from the factory most radios just aren't working at their best. The factories don't have the time to sit down with every radio and precisely tune it. They generally get it in the ball park, but if you are interested in performance, you need the true tune. Every modification we perform is backed up with our unbeatable warranty! Like always, none of our work will void any factory warranties.

What is the SP1-A, and why do I need it?

We've been asked this question more times than we can count, so we've decided to compile this article so you can better understand it. While almost the entire CB market is polarized by big peak power numbers, the truth is average power is much more useable than peak power. This reason is because you might only reach your peak power for a fraction of a second, while your average power is most often seen when you're talking on the radio. The SP1-A does bring your peak power up slightly, but more importantly it brings up your average power or your usable power considerably. This means overall you will be louder sounding. Have you ever been watching a show on TV, when suddenly a loud commercial comes on? The truth is the commercial really isn't louder, it just sounds that way. The producers of these commercials use speech processors or compressors to make the commercials sound louder and get your attention. It works doesn't it? Now you can employ this same technology on a much smaller level, in your radio. You can have our technicians install the SP1-A, and it will give you a similar effect. With the SP1-A, you're going to cut through the background noise more effectively and sound louder. We don't recommend that you attempt to use a power microphone. Your radio will end up squealing like a stuck pig. We recommend a good noise canceling microphone such as the Astatic 636L or the Road King 56.

What antenna will work for me?

This is another common question asked by many customers.
"What antenna do you recommend for my setup?"
When choosing an antenna get the largest antenna that will work with your application. There is no substitute when it comes to height. Also when installing your antenna don't forget to tune it for the lowest SWR. Instructions on how to do so are included with every antenna we sell. Keep in mind that if you're installing any antenna behind the cab of the a pickup truck that some of it should clear the cab. If your antenna has a coil, try to get one with a shaft long enough so the coil clears the cab. Reflection off of surroundings can have a significant effect on your SWR. Also choose a high quality coax cable with SOLDERED ends. Length isn't important, get what length you need to get from point A to point B.

Do you have that radio in stock?

We stock a large selection of radios. Most of the time we do have the radio you choose in stock. If we don't we can usually get it in 2-4 days. If we can not get the radio with in that amount of time you will be contacted by a sales person. We work extremely hard to fill your orders in a timely manner.

How long does it take for my order to ship?

Most orders ship the same or the next business day. Orders containing radios with custom options can take a couple of days to ship. The reason these are delayed is because it takes sometime to properly customize a radio.

What’s the difference between the true tune and the mega tune?

To drastically simplify it, the true tune is a realignment of the transmitter section of the radio. The mega tune involves completely aligning all sections of the radio

Are the items on your website new or refurbished?

Everything we sell is factory fresh (Brand New) unless otherwise stated. Our prices are low because we sell more than your local shop. We also shop for the best pricing and pass the savings on to you.

How much is shipping?

We try to maintain the lowest possible shipping charges, but please remember we do use quality-shipping materials and they do cost a little more. Our shipping charges regardless are very competitive and often the lowest in the industry. Most orders are charged a $2.00 package fee, to help cover the cost of materials. We DO NOT profit from shipping and we feel that no business should! Orders over $140 require a signature; this adds a small amount to shipping costs. Over 99% of the time, our shopping cart will give you the correct and exact shipping cost. Often the actual amount you are charged is slightly less than what is displayed in the cart.

If you'd like to get a shipping estimate from the shopping cart, please follow these steps. First, add the items you would like to your cart. Next proceed to checkout and enter your contact information. After you submit that the cart will then display the shipping charges. The order isn't actually placed until you enter your credit card information, so do not hesitate to use this method. Entering credit card information is actually the next step in the process, but you do not need to do so in order to getting a shipping quote.

When shipping antennas like the Wilson 1000 and 5000, we find that a combination of UPS and USPS yields the most affordable shipping. The reason being is that they ship in two boxes, one for the base and the other for the whip. USPS is more affordable when shipping a long object, like the whip. UPS is more affordable when shipping heavier items like the base.

Generally USPS will be the most cost effective for orders that weigh less than five pounds and are valued at $100 or less. Orders containing heavier or more expensive products are usually cheaper to ship with UPS. Insurance is much more affordable with UPS. All packages we ship are insured for the correct amount, this assures you get the protection you deserve.

Radios usually cost around $10 to ship, microphones and mounts are usually around $7. Antennas vary because of their length, but most times cost less than $8 to ship. All prices are UPS ground, faster services are available, but do cost more.

Will UPS leave my radio if I'm not home?

No, we require a signature on all radios or high dollar items. This is for your protection as well as ours.

How do I obtain a tracking number?

If you supplied us with a valid email address one will be emailed when your order ships. Please do not repetitively call and email us for a tracking number, we are very busy and this slows down everything.

What is an SWR and how do I adjust it?

Firestik put together a very good guide that is loaded with information; the following link will take you to it. SWR Guide

What antenna is best?

Wow, this is a hard question because there are so many variables and certain antennas work better than others depending on the situation. Generally speaking the larger the antenna the better transmit and receive you will have. The large open coil antennas work really well, but are more costly than the rest. Keep in mind most have very good warranties so take that in to account when shopping. Fiberglass antennas such as Firestik and Wilson ’s silver load series work really well and are a bargain for the price. Keep in mind no matter what antenna you choose, you must set the SWR!

How far will my radio transmit?

This is almost impossible to answer because so many variables come into play. For the best range choose a quality antenna with good coax and make sure your SWR is as low as possible. These steps will ensure that you are getting the most performance from your radio.

All we ask is that you give us an opportunity to serve you! Thank you for your time!
